I don't know.
But its the down that's the precursor to up. The dark the precursor to light. Pain to joy. Hurt to love. Weakness to Strength and perhaps the greatest contradiction of all - evil to good.
Its as though the Anvil of all the "dark sides" fashion the "blades of glory" we all sing about so freely..
Its a universe DNA thing I guess.
